In the early 70’s John & George Taglis moved to the United States from their native country of Greece. They started working in the restaurant business at Virginia Steakhouse in Virginia Beach. When the opportunity presented itself, the two brothers, along with their uncle, George Skartsiounis, who was also known as “Big George,” decided to open George’s Steakhouse on Holland Road in Suffolk, Virginia.
Since George’s Steakhouse opened its doors in 1978, it has become a major part of Suffolk’s community. For over 30 years, The Taglis brothers have established a local following in the community that they are proud of.
Both brothers currently reside in Suffolk. John, and his wife, Kiki, have two children, Angela and “Little Victor.” George, and his wife, Haroula, also have two children, Pam and “Big Victor.” It truly is a family owned business. John and George’s families have worked at George’s over the years, and continue to be part of the business today. Both John & George are proud of their accomplishments and grateful to be such a huge part of the community.
